Swimming has been a part of my life since I was three and cried before, during, and after, every swim lesson at the Greenfield, Mass YMCA. Eventually, swimming gave me confidence in and out of the pool, and water safety is a topic that's very important to me.

This October, I'll be swimming a half-marathon (5k) to support scholarships for swim lessons for youth at the Gleason Family YMCA, where I've been swimming with the master's group for the past two years.
