This year, I will be running the 2024 TCS New York Marathon for Special Olympics New York!

Special Olympics provides an opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be included in sports and competitions throughout the year. More than 200 million people in the world have intellectual disabilities and Special Olympics strives to create a world to accept and include others.

I chose to run for Special Oympics because this organization combines my two passions of helping others and being involved in sports. Since I was young, my family and I have been been involved with Special Oympics. Being a volunteer, I loved watching athletes make friends, feel included and feel supported all while excelling in their sport. I continued my support for Special Olympics by interning with SONJ. Also, at St. Lawrence University, our track team hosted a “Special Olympics Holiday Relay" for SONY. As a track athlete, I loved seeing the athletes participate and bring joy to our team and the event. I'm so excited to run for Special Olympics this year and attribute to their motto of “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt”.
