Story
This September, I’m joining in on the fundraising campaign for Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) as part of GiveMore24!, a 24-hour day of giving benefiting nonprofits across Southwest Washington.
My son Alvin is 11 years old. He has a one-in-a-million condition called Brittle Cornea Syndrome, and has traipsed through life with low vision and severe photophobia.
After moving to Oregon, we discovered NWABA. Alvin absolutely loves participating in their programming. Because of NWABA he has been introduced to tandem biking, snowboarding, kayaking, pickleball and more.
NWABA has opened up access to activities that I wasn't sure how to help him do. The volunteers and staff are some of the most kind people.
Support Alvin in his continued pursuit of adventures thanks to NWABA!
