Story
I am fundraising because I myself have been touched by eye donation.
As a recipient of donation, I know firsthand what a difference it makes in someone's life. In 2015 I was diagnosed with Acanthamoeba Keratitis, a rare infection caused by a parasite my right eye. The next year was a battle as I tried multiple mediations and drugs that could not heal the infection. I was lucky enough to receive a transplant and be able to get back to my life. As a 25 year old I was newly graduated and stuck at home in a dark room. Dependent on my family and friends and out of work. The transplant truly gave me a new lease on life.
As a photographer, the gift of sight is something I never take for granted. It is not only instrumental to my day to day but also to my career. I have been able to continue doing what I love, capturing people and emotions through sight all thanks to donation.
