Story
I’m raising funds for OMRA, a non-profit organization supporting vulnerable refugees in Ottawa.
When families arrive in Canada, housing insecurity is often their biggest barrier. OMRA provides individualized, needs-based rent support so they can focus on what truly matters — learning the language, continuing their education, finding employment, and rebuilding their lives with dignity.
This is more than housing. It’s stability. It’s hope. It’s a fresh start.
Together, we can help reduce housing insecurity and build a community where refugees don’t just survive—they belong, grow, and thrive.
This cause is also deeply personal to me. I am running in honour of my late neighbour, Nancy Jayne Pollex, who welcomed me with kindness when I first arrived in Canada as a refugee. Her compassion changed my life—and through this effort, I hope to carry that same kindness forward.
Let’s come together to create stable futures for those who need it most.
