Welcome to your charity team! Thank you for taking part in the London Marathon 2027.

Story

I’m running the 2027 London Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of my mum and dad.

My brother, sister and I sadly lost our mum, Francisca, to breast cancer in 2009, and our dad, Peter, to neuroendocrine cancer in 2022. Cancer has affected many people close to me, as it does so many families, and I know first-hand how deeply it can impact not only the person diagnosed, but also the people around them.

The London Marathon holds some very special memories for our family. When I first ran it in 2014, Dad was there supporting me as I raised money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Mum. I returned in 2026, this time running in Dad’s memory and raising money for Neuroendocrine Cancer UK. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to take part in the London Marathon for the third time, in support of such an important cause, raising funds for people affected by cancer.

Macmillan provides practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and their families. They offer services such as cancer support workers, financial advice, information about treatment and help with the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis.

I’m proud to be raising money in Mum and Dad’s memory for a cause they would have cared deeply about.

I’ll be sharing my full training journey for you to follow along and see how I am getting on. There’ll be plenty of wet and windy miles when I’ll probably question why I signed up again, difficult long runs and some other running events to help prepare me for the big day. My furry pacer, Poppy, will be joining me for some of the more enjoyable miles too! 🐾

Every donation will help support Macmillan’s work with people and families affected by cancer. Thank you for supporting this journey and helping us keep Mum and Dad’s memory alive. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
