Story
75 miles south of the world’s most heavily crossed border at San Diego/Tijuana, there’s a special place…. a home for hurting little ones, where “a cup of cold water” is given in Jesus’ name. This story of rescue has been written for over 40 years. It began in 1970 as a labor of love by concerned Christians in California. All of the children have a story that has brought them to this place in need of the love of Jesus. Our GAC students get to partner with this incredible place to help support the mission and serve these children.
I believe that God wants to speak and touch people in all parts of the world. I also believe that he calls people to certain places to be the answer that someone is waiting on. Through the power of God and the Holy Spirit in me, I want to be able to touch the lives of these children and to show them all of who God really is.
Our Purpose: All of these children share the same sense of urgency – to love and be loved by Christians and to feel the compassion of God’s people. Our mission will be to be a friend and example of Jesus to a child. Our hugs and attention may be the love that helps heal a broken heart. From work projects, to sharing bible stories, to just sitting and playing with kids this trip is such a blessing to all who commit to serve.
