Story
The Ministry of Transportation is proud to fundraise for Engineers in Action! A minimum donation of $10 gets you stickers and pie vote, but every donation helps. Check out the last bridge build the University of British Columbia chapter constructed with the help of our $1200 in donations last year!
Make sure to leave your name or save your receipt so you can redeem it for stickers and vote on Pi Day.
Last summer these students along with volunteers built a 37m long footbridge impacting 1190 residents in Bolivia. See above pictures from last year's build and a photo of a volunteer (one of our Ministry's engineer's) who started up the UBC chapter.
This year the student chapter expanded to not only build another bridge but also a Water and Sanitation system for clean drinking water. The water system is built for school in Alta Mira, Bolivia impacting 180 people including students, staff and community members. The bridge build is a 65m long foot bridge in Aguas Calientes, Peru impacting 300 people helping them access a school and food sources.
The University chapter is proud to be part of EIA's mission. Together with EIA and communities in Bolivia, Eswatini, Ecuador, Peru, and beyond, they design and build bridges and WASH systems that transform daily life. Every donation builds connection, health, and hope.
