I’m running the Manchester Marathon for Mind in memory of my Uncle, Stephen Murray, who passed away in December last year. Stephen was affected by mental health issues but always advocated for more change to mental health services. He also worked closely with Mind to help change the mental health system to what it is today and I’m sure he and his close family, would be very proud of what he has achieved already. Hopefully with the money raised here, services will continue to be improved for everyone to be able to get the help they need.

Personally, the marathon training and talking about mental health has helped me massively to cope with some difficult situations recently. Talking releases so much anxiety and stress and I have been lucky to have close friends and family who have been there to listen to me and to also be listened too! For those that don’t have this luxury, these mental health support services are vital.

Your donation, no matter how small, will really help improve these support services that a lot of people will benefit from.

This will be a massive personal challenge for me to complete the marathon and it’s always been on my bucket list. With your donations it will make this the ultimate experience for me.
