Sigma Nu Day of Giving 2025

Bill Geddy is raising money for Sigma Nu Educational Foundation Inc
Each October, the Legion of Honor calls upon the entire brotherhood to celebrate the anniversary of our spiritual founding by making a gift on Sigma Nu's Day of Giving.

Story

In honor of Eddie Reeves, ΘΚ 229.

This Day of Giving supports the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation, which provides resources to our leadership and educational programs for our collegiate brothers. Your financial support will directly impact on the lives of our collegiate brothers, and it will make a significant difference in the lives of young men we serve. I firmly believe it does because it had a significant impact on me personally and I see evidence of it everyday in the young men of our chapter.

This fund provides for LEAD (our 4 year leadership development program), College of Chapters (our 3 day leadership conclave for Commanders), Sigma Nu Institute (our annual officer training program), Lexington Leadership Institute (our new emerging leader's program), and programs like “Behind Happy Faces” (our collegiate mental health program) as well as helping to maintain our Sigma Nu HQs Shrine & property, the “Crown Jewel” of the Legion of Honor, which Theta Kappa visits in our annual pilgrimage program.

This year, I am dedicating my effort to an exemplary brother, who unexpectedly passed to Chapter Eternal just a few weeks ago. His name is Eddie Reeves, ΘΚ 229, of the Georgia Southern chapter. He spent his time, from the very start, participating in every event, every sport, always recruiting – helping grow us, expanding our IFC relations, and challenging us to be better. He was a brother, a friend, a mentor, a coach, a confidant, and so much more; he was a definitive part of the pivot the chapter made in the mid-80s that helped guide us to where we are today. In his efforts as a brother, in the chapter, in the IFC, in the community, and as a RA then a Hall Director, he guided an Army of young men to our doors.

Sometimes you don’t know the full impact someone has on you until they are gone. Eddie was that; he was a great brother, a great friend, wise counsel when I needed it, and he became a great citizen of his community following the ideals of our fraternity every day. I miss him already, but I want to honor him in this way, in his name, because excellence is what he sought for our chapter every day as collegiate brothers, and it was the pursuit of excellence with Eddie and others that made it all worthwhile.

I am truly grateful for your support and for what Sigma Nu does every day for our young men.
