We are Strong Like a Mother — a team of passionate, powerhouse moms coming together to raise money for kids with disabilities through Easter Seals.

Some of us are moms to children with complex medical and developmental needs, and others are fierce allies who’ve shown up time and time again for the families in their lives and communities. What unites us is our shared belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, move, and thrive — and that no family should feel like they’re facing it all alone.

As many of you know, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some truly incredible humans with spinal cord injuries for over a decade. These individuals aren’t just clients — they’re family. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact Easter Seals has had on their lives, especially through their sports programs. I’m doing this in memory of Gordie, who loved playing wheelchair soccer with the team. He was not only a player but also a mentor who lifted up so many others with his joy, strength, and spirit.

I’m also doing this for two amazing families who started as travel clients and have since become close friends. Their connection to Easter Seals runs deep, and I’ve witnessed how the organization has been an incredible support— offering resources, opportunities, and an unshakable community of support. It’s been an honour to play a small part in their journeys by helping bring their family travel dreams to life.

Easter Seals provides vital equipment, inclusive camp experiences, and life-changing programs that break down barriers for kids with disabilities. These supports help children gain mobility, confidence, and the freedom to fully participate in the world around them.

That’s why we’re taking part in Drop Zone 2025 — harnessed up and stepping off the side of a building — to raise funds and awareness for this incredible cause. Is it a little scary? Sure. But it’s nothing compared to the strength we see in these kids and families every single day.
