Story
This September, I’m joining an inspiring fundraising campaign for Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) as part of GiveMore24!, a powerful 24-hour giving day benefiting nonprofits across Southwest Washington.
👉 Here’s why I’m fundraising for NWABA:
**For 12 years, I've had a front-row seat to something extraordinary.**
I've watched blind, low vision, and deafblind kids stand on a starting line for the first time — nervous, unsure, maybe never having run full-speed before in their lives. And then I've watched them cross the finish line grinning, changed.
That's what Northwest Association for Blind Athletes does. They don't just talk about inclusion — they build it, one practice, one competition, one camp at a time. I've seen kids find a confidence in themselves through NWABA that no classroom or clinic could ever give them. I've seen friendships form between kids who thought they were the only ones like them in the world. I've seen parents cry happy tears watching their child do something they never thought possible.
As someone who works with these students every day, I can tell you: organizations that *say* they serve this community are common. Organizations that actually show up, get it right, and change lives are rare. NWABA is one of the rare ones. They live their mission — I've watched them do it for over a decade, and I believe in them with my whole heart.
Would you consider making a gift to NWABA today? Every dollar helps put a blind or low vision kid in a place where they get to be fearless, be a kid, and be exactly who they are.
Thank you for believing in these incredible young athletes with me! Brittany
