Story

I am running the London Marathon 2027 for the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) in support of my cousin Emily.

After an accident in 2020 left Emily (a C4/C5 tetraplegic) paralysed, I have seen first-hand the challenges that a spinal cord injury can bring, not just for the person affected but for their family and those around them.

The Spinal Injuries Association has been there to support Emily throughout her journey, providing advice, support and a sense that she and our family do not have to navigate this life-changing situation alone. Seeing the difference that this support has made is a huge part of why I wanted to take on this challenge.

Running a marathon is something I never imagined I would do, but having the opportunity to run the London Marathon for a charity that means so much to Emily and our family makes every training run, early morning and painful mile worthwhile.

I’m hoping to raise as much as possible for the SIA so that they can continue to support people like Emily and their families after a spinal cord injury.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation will help the SIA continue the vital work they do, and it would mean a huge amount to Emily, myself and our family.

Thank you so much for your support!!
