YMCA Camp Cullen Equestrian Campaign

Be the Change Annual Campaign 2024 · 31 December 2024 ·
The Equestrian Program at YMCA Camp Cullen is home to roughly forty five horses year-round. These horses support our retreat, summer, and outdoor education programs by providing equestrian experiences through horseback riding and horsemanship activities. It takes a special horse to work at a camp, and we are blessed to have our herd to share with the community. The bond made between a camp horse and their camper is truly indescribable and a friendship made for life. Not only do our horses provide companionship to our campers and participants, but the act of horseback riding has proven to be physically and mentally therapeutic in a variety of ways.
While the joy these horses bring to our campers and participants is priceless, it costs approximately $4,000 a year for one camp horse to get the basic feed, veterinary, and farrier care that they require. The Equestrian Campaign is in place to help ensure that our horses continue to thrive and are able to keep enriching the lives of others through their unconditional love. A donation in your favorite horse's name will contribute to the care of that horse as well as the rest of the herd.
