6.5 years ago I had life saving surgery leaving me with my permanent colostomy. I had no idea how I’d manage/cope & felt alone and scared. I’d learn that approx 150,000 Canadians, 1M Americans and 13M+ worldwide have an ostomy bag.

I found my local ostomy chapter/group & have been volunteering as the secretary for a few years now. Having a sense of community is something I needed and still need, in person and online. I’ve built my own online community with my Instagram and website, Ostomate and the City. I chat (DM) with hundreds of Ostomates weekly.

Ultimately I’m trying to help the next me and bring awareness and lessen stigma about ostomy life. I thank you for your support xoxo
