I have seen firsthand in my own life the crushing weight poverty can exert on women and children, and how life-changing it is when you have the support of others behind you. I want to live in a society and in a city where no woman has to stand alone when fighting for her most basic human needs - to be free from domestic violence, to build a safe home for her children, to work legally and with dignity in our country.
