My life changed forever at the age of 41, when I had a major stroke. I was a nurse working for the NHS, when my career was cut short due to being left with an affected right side and aphasia.

Did you know that every year approximately 100,000 people will have a stroke in the UK? A quarter of these will happen to people of working age or younger, making it the single biggest cause of disability.
