Hi, my name is Connor O’Neill and I'm currently fundraising for the Stacy Goldstein Breast Center on behalf of the Overlook Hospital Junior Board in Summit NJ. I’m currently a Junior at Seton Hall Prep, and I love helping people in my everyday life, which is why I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity.

Breast cancer is a very personal cause to me. My grandma, specifically, is a breast cancer survivor. She is one of the strongest women I know. This has made me want to fundraise to help provide better treatment for breast cancer and help save lives.

Timely access to breast exams and intervention is critical to the ever-growing number of patients seeking screening and diagnostic procedures. While one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, 65% of cases are diagnosed at the localized stage, leading to a 5-year survival rate of 99%.

Expansion of the Stacy Goldstein Breast Center at Overlook will provide significantly increased capacity for screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds and biopsies. Renovations are being made to waiting areas, consultation spaces, and procedure rooms; next-generation ultrasound and mammography machines are being added; and the center’s medical team is poised to play a leading role in advancing education, research, and treatment surrounding breast health. A center like this will provide increased care to many women in the surrounding area. Every little bit helps, no amount is too small.
