Right now in NC, there are nearly 600,000 children, families and seniors in the Food Bank's service area who do not know when or where their next meal will come from. As of October 31, 2025, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will cease providing funds to recipients November 1 due to the government shutdown. That, combined with other recent government funding cuts means a lot of our neighbors are having to make impossible choices like take my child to the doctor, buy my medicine or buy groceries.

In the midst of this hunger crisis, the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is asking for our help so that Thanksgiving 2025 can look just like every other Thanksgiving! And not just at Thanksgiving, but throughout the holiday season and beyond. Remember, every $10 buys enough fresh produce, protein, dairy, and pantry staples for 50 meals. No one should have to sacrifice their holiday traditions around the table.

Together, let's choose to provide our neighbors with a much-needed lifeline this holiday season. Let's offer them food stability--full plates, full stomachs, lasting memories and hearts full of joy and thankfulness. Let's help the Food Bank keep their promise that no one goes hungry.
