The Y has been an important part of my and my family’s lives for decades. I first became connected to the YMCA as a college volunteer in Mankato, and when I moved to the Twin Cities, I quickly found a home at the Y in Shoreview. For the past 29 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside kind and generous teammates through YMCA of the North, who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others.

The Y has also been a place of care and growth for my own family—my son attended Y childcare from infancy through elementary school, surrounded by staff I trusted to want only the very best for him. He also learned to swim at the Y and took part in youth sports, gaining both skills and confidence in an environment that was safe, supportive, and fun. He also works for the YMCA and values the connections we make with our communities.

For the past two years, I have been part of the White Bear Area YMCA and have come to truly appreciate what a close-knit and supportive community this is. I want our Y to continue being a place of support and compassion for all who walk through our doors. That is why I give—to ensure others can experience the same care, belonging, and opportunities that have meant so much to me and my family.
