💚 I’m taking on HYROX Birmingham for Macmillan Cancer Support 💚
This autumn, I'll be challenging myself by taking part in HYROX Birmingham, a fitness event that combines running and functional workouts. It'll be tough, but I'm doing it for a cause that's very close to my heart.
As many of you know, my cancer journey started in 2022 when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Following surgery and chemotherapy, I was incredibly relieved to be given the all-clear.
Unfortunately, just a year later, during a routine surveillance scan, I received the news that the cancer had spread to my liver. What followed was another three months of chemotherapy and a second major surgery.
It was during my recovery from this second diagnosis that I experienced first-hand the support that Macmillan Cancer Support provides. Their help, guidance and reassurance made a real difference during one of the most challenging periods of my life, and I'll always be grateful for that support.
Thankfully, I'm now in a position where I can take on challenges like HYROX, and I want to use this opportunity to give something back and help others who are facing their own cancer journey.
I'm aiming to raise £500 for Macmillan, and every donation, no matter how small, will help them continue providing vital support to people living with cancer and their families.
💚 £14.50 could provide 10 copies of a booklet helping people manage the financial impact of cancer.
💚 £23 could fund a session of emotional support through a Macmillan Buddy.
💚 £41 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for one hour.
There are currently over 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK, and Macmillan's services are needed more than ever.
If you're able to donate or simply share this post, I would be hugely grateful.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey. It means more than you'll ever know. 💚
