Yasha’s enthusiastic personality and strong desire to become a homeowner immediately stood out when she was accepted into the Habitat program. She recalls scrolling through Facebook where she saw the “Women Build” post featuring all the pink shirts. She instantly knew this was where she belonged. She joined the program and hit the ground running.
One of her daughters has Autism, and her daughter’s special needs were key, with Yasha explaining, “I want to make sure my daughter is on a quiet street in a peaceful neighborhood where she can feel comfortable.”
"Habitat gives me the comfort of knowing I’m blessed with the opportunity to improve my living situation, and I’ll be able to leave a piece of myself in the home I helped build for my daughters”, according to Yasha. She can’t wait to say, ‘I did that!”
