They Told Us There Were No Options—St. Joseph’s Proved Otherwise
Delaney’s story isn’t just one of survival—it’s a testament to the power of hope, healing, and human connection.
As a brand new mom, hearing the words “your baby has cancer” was the most shocking moment of my life—but it wasn’t the worst. The worst was being told there were no more options. That my daughter, Delaney—who had just beaten the nearly impossible odds against stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma—would now have to live with irreversible effects.
The very treatment that saved her life also left behind a storm of lasting damage—chronic pain, multiple organ damage, hearing loss, and the inability to attend school.
We were left holding the pieces.
And no one seemed able—or willing—to help us put her back together.
Until we found St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
What started as a visit for pain management became so much more. They embraced Delaney—and us—with open arms and hearts. They didn’t just offer treatments—they offered hope. Through a unique, holistic approach alongside her medical care—acupuncture, massage, music therapy, essential oils, child life services, visits from the therapy dog, and more—Delaney began to feel joy again. Dignity. Comfort.
At St. Joseph’s, she isn’t just a patient—she’s Delaney. From the moment she walks through the doors, she is greeted by name, given fist bumps by security guards, and cared for by an incredible team. Not just exceptional physicians, but people who treat your child the way they would treat their own. Giving Delaney the best possible quality of life is always their priority.
She looks forward to her appointments because they make her feel better—not just physically, but emotionally. She feels heard and safe. And a snuggle from Roddy, the pediatric facility pup, is always just what she needs.
Today, Delaney continues to face the long-term effects of her treatment—but because of St. Joseph’s, she is living with more comfort, more joy, and more support than we once thought possible.
This year, I’m honored to continue supporting Fashion with Compassion and helping raise funds for the incredible care St. Joseph’s provides to children and families like ours.
We pray you never have to know St. Joseph’s in the way we do—but I can confidently say that access to this kind of innovative care is priceless.
There are countless other children like Delaney—kids who need more than treatment. They need people who see them, hear them, and fight for them & with them.
When you give to St. Joseph’s, you’re not just giving to a hospital—you’re investing in a child’s future, a family’s strength, and hope.
And there’s nothing more powerful than that.
