Every year, the TANGO2 community rallies together to participate in our virtual campaign, Shine a Light on TANGO2. I participate because I want to make a difference in the lives of children and young adults living with TANGO2 disease.

TANGO2-related disease is a rare genetic disorder. Affected individuals experience episodes of acute illness called metabolic crises. Cardiac arrhythmias, the breakdown of muscle tissue leading to profound lower-extremity weakness, and other complications can occur during an episode. Among other symptoms that can arise are neurological problems including intellectual disability and regression, poor coordination and seizures.

There is no cure for the disorder, but research is underway to better understand and treat this disease
