2025 Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC

Pls join me again in supporting Camp Forget-Me-Not and the important work of helping children and their families learn they are not alone in their grief and how to ease the pain of losing a cherished loved one.
This is my 14th year as a mental health volunteer and the 26th anniversary of the Wendt Center's Camp Forget-Me-Not. I'm volunteering in remembrance of my beloved husband Mark Nash and his lifelong friend Rick Hindin who died in March of this year.
I’ll be volunteering with children 6-9 years old at the June 28th Day Camp. Camp for children 10-12 will be on July 12th and for children 13-17 on July 26th.
Campers will enjoy the freedom to be playful and have fun while developing bonds with other children their age who have experienced a heartbreaking loss. Interspersed with traditional Camp activities are small group therapeutic sessions to help Campers remember and honor their deceased loved ones, express a range of feelings, and learn strategies to lighten the burden of grief.
Families will return in the afternoon to participate in parent support activities and the Creating Connections Family Dinner with all Campers, their families, volunteers, and staff members.
Grief is isolating. Camp Forget-Me-Not teaches children that they are part of a community of kids and adults who are learning to live without their loved ones. (All adult volunteers and staff members have experienced losses...a requirement of participation.) Camp accelerates the learning and provides skills and understandings that will aid participants throughout their lives as they experience additional losses.
In 2025, Camper Forget-Me-Not is expected to help 400+ children and their families in DC, Maryland, and Virginia during the summer Day Camps and the virtual Family Camps that extend into the fall and winter months. Your generous donations are expanding the reach of Camp Forget-Me-Not and ENABLING ALL PROGRAMS TO BE FREE for Campers and their family members.
Thank you so much for your continued support through the years and generous donations. I deeply appreciate that you participate with me in this meaningful work.
