For nearly a decade, I have had the privilege of supporting OMRA as they provide vital monthly rental subsidies to refugees and asylum seekers in Ottawa. Witnessing these resilient individuals and families adapt, grow, and thrive in their new home fills me with hope and inspiration. OMRA goes beyond financial aid by offering English tutoring and creating joyful opportunities for newcomers to experience cherished Canadian traditions like picnics and canoe rides.

In 2025 alone, OMRA distributed over $210,000 in rental subsidies to more than 50 households. As housing costs rise, so does the need for increased support. This is why I am proudly participating in the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend 2026 marathon on May 23, 2026 — to raise funds for "OMRA - Tamarack Race 2026" with a goal of $1,500 CAD.
