Story

There are plenty of couples who crave the spotlight, and then there are true power couples who possess a fire within and approach every day with passion and purpose. That brings us to dental medicine specialist partners, Dr's. Laurie and Robert Gittess embody that passion and purpose every day. This dynamic couple approaches everything in their personal and professional lives together, including running a successful specialty dental medicine practice as business partners and life partners in Weston, FL.

Dr. Laurie Gittess has been practicing orthodontics for 37 years. A fourth-generation dentist, by age 25 Laurie was a pre-professional scholar in dental school and became the youngest and first female Orthodontist in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Another little-known fact about Laurie is that she was Robert's teacher in dental school, where they met. The pair realized their happiness and future was together, so they moved to Philadelphia for Robert's endodontics residency and then back to Florida to build Weston Endodontics and Weston Orthodontics, their thriving specialty dental medicine practice for the past 28 years.

In addition, to visiting six out of seven continents across the globe, Laurie is an avid runner, an extraordinary baker (according to Laurie, 'in order to be a great baker you'd better enjoy running!'), and raising their two incredible grown children, Adam and Jennifer, who both have professional careers in NYC. She also loves to mentor and guide young women pursuing a career in the dental profession, as she has climbed many mountains to achieve her personal success and life balance. When you're out and about in Weston, you might run into an ultra-hip, well-dressed man who has a great sense of style, loves all things art and music, and goes by the name Dr. G. Dr. Robert Gittess might be sporting his favorite rock band tee shirt one minute and medical scrubs the next. One thing all of his patients will agree upon is that Dr. G loves life and always ensures that he and his medical team are pros at relieving patient fear. That might require singing or dancing with patients to shake off their stress, but the goal is to gain each patient's trust and to provide the greatest endodontic proficiency, skill, and professionalism in a state-of-the-art setting for every patient—Dr's. Robert and Laurie make it a point to provide pro bono services for youths with severe dental needs and limited financial resources. That has been a staple of their practice and a point of personal pride. Together they are extremely philanthropic to their community and beyond. The incredible duo has spent many trips across the world, guest teaching dental students in schools across the globe.

Most recently, Dr. Robert Gittess received the Lifetime Service Recognition Award for 30 years of dental service from the American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association. In the National publication USA Consumer Reports, you may have read that Dr. G was rated the #1 top dental medicine specialist in all 50 states; and the youngest doctor to achieve that honor. Robert is passionate about his career and his life on every level. With an incredible number of patients, Dr. G sums it up: "My life was not destined to turn out this way, both personally and professionally. So, in using the term 'grateful,' I truly feel blessed. "Laurie and I have a mission in life, to improve the lives of others. And we encourage all of our family, friends, staff, and patients to help do the same by supporting worthwhile causes like Glam-A-THON".

When the Gittess' are asked for help, they immediately say WE'RE IN"!
