Story
Hi everyone,
I created this page because I want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young girls in our community—and because running has taught me what’s possible when we believe in ourselves and stay committed, even when the journey feels hard.
My running journey didn’t start with a marathon in mind. It began as a personal challenge: showing up for myself, building discipline, and learning to push past self-doubt one step at a time. Along the way, running has become a powerful reminder that growth doesn’t happen overnight—it happens through consistency, resilience, and the courage to keep going when things get tough. Training for the Chicago Marathon on October 11, 2026, represents more than a physical goal for me; it reflects perseverance, confidence, and the belief that we are capable of more than we sometimes realize.
That’s why I’m so inspired by the incredible work of the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. Their mission closely mirrors the values I’ve learned through running—empowering girls to become confident leaders, develop essential life skills, and discover their full potential. With your support, they can continue expanding their impactful programs and reach even more girls who deserve these opportunities.
I invite you to join me on this journey by contributing whatever you can through the **“Give Now”** button. My fundraising goal is **$2,200**, and truly, every dollar makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with your friends and family is another powerful way to help spread the word.
Together, we can amplify the mission of Girl Scouts GCNWI and show young girls that with support, determination, and confidence, they can go farther than they ever imagined. Thank you so much for your generosity and encouragement—it truly means the world to me.
With gratitude,
Elda
