Story

This September, I’ll be running the Copenhagen Half Marathon. But I can only cross the finish line after reaching another important goal: raising £400 for The Brain Tumour Charity!

I began running about a year and a half ago and completed my first half-marathon race, the Göteborgsvarvet, in 2024. Since then, I've completed more half-marathon races, and running has become a meaningful part of my life – a way to challenge myself physically and mentally, and now, a way to give back.

I’m currently a PhD student in medical science, working in cancer research with a focus on childhood leukemia. While my work doesn’t directly involve brain tumours, I know how crucial it is to support research across all areas of cancer. Especially those like brain cancer, where so many questions remain unanswered! I’m professionally committed to advancing cancer research, and I’m proud to support this mission outside the lab as well!

Cancer has also touched my personal life. Friends of mine have fought, and continue to fight, this awful disease. Running for The Brain Tumour Charity is my way of standing with them, and with all the families facing this horror.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour organization and the largest dedicated funder of research in this field. They’re working urgently to develop new treatments, offer critical support, and drive meaningful change. Because a cure really can’t wait.

If you're able to, I would be incredibly grateful for your donation. Every step I take in this race will be powered by your support! Thanks <3
