Story
After being tragically struck down by Covid just days shy of the 2022 event, we're trying again - hopefully we'll make it to the start line this time!
I started running during lockdown and have found it both a continuous challenge and a continuous benefit for my physical and mental health. I still feel very much a beginner, and typically stick to short runs, but after running the Asics London 10K with Zoë in 2021, we decided to challenge ourselves to the Great North Run 2022! Unfortunately the pandemic thwarted us and our event had to be delayed, so we've re-registered this year and would love your support. This will be my first ever half marathon, and I'm excited for the challenge!
We decided to fundraise for Save the Children due to our support of their global campaigns, both in the UK and abroad. Particularly in aid of their ongoing work in Syria with providing medical care and trauma support to displaced children, and to support restarted campaigns in Afghanistan in providing healthcare and education services to families in need. Save the Children believes that every child deserves a future. The last few years have needed even more support so we really hope we're able to help make a bit of a difference.
I hope you're able to support us and Save the Children as we finally tackle this iconic event. Thank you!
