Ergo are entering two teams into Clash of the Companies this year as the National Paediatric Liver service, located at CHI at Crumlin, is in need of a Fibroscan. This machine is a non invasive method of detecting and staging both liver fibrosis and fat content of the liver. It will essentially replace a liver biopsy by a quick (less than five minutes), painless and safer procedure. It will be a vital tool in decreasing unnecessary invasive investigations and treatments, reducing clinical risk, and improving timeliness of diagnosis and management avoidance of inpatient stays - something that every child and parents wants.
