I joined World Ocean School as a Deckhand Educator almost 8 years ago—an experience that without question changed my life. Since then, I've continued to support this organization, most recently as the co-chair of the Alumni Council, where I get to build a growing network of alumni who were equally impacted by their time sailing with World Ocean School programs.

While the adventure of sailing around the Atlantic gave me experiences I'll never forget, the students I taught were really the reason why that job was so impactful.

Over the past 23 years, World Ocean School has provided transformative educational programs for over 23,000 middle and high school students all coming from an incredibly diverse range of backgrounds and lived experiences. There is something magical and empowering about learning and living on a historic sailing vessel that really can't be found anywhere else.
