Story
This December, I’ll be taking part in my first ever HYROX in London. I first decided to raise money for Macmillan at the beginning of June, as we, like so many other families, have had friends and family affected by cancer.
When I signed up for this event, I had no idea just how personal it would become.
In June, unbeknown to me, my dad had been notified about suspected prostate cancer. He received an email confirming his first appointment to discuss his diagnosis just hours before he walked me down the aisle on my wedding day.
Since then, the bad news has unfortunately kept coming. We were recently told the news that his prostate cancer has spread to several areas, is now very aggressive, and heartbreakingly, terminal.
Although we are only at the start of this journey, the nurses have already been an incredible source of help and comfort for our family. They have given invaluable advice and support, and my Dad now has a dedicated Macmillan nurse who knows his treatment inside out and will be there every step of the way.
I’m racing for Macmillan, for Dad, and for every family whose lives have been touched by cancer.
Any donation, big or small, will make such a difference.
Thank you so much for your support 💚
