Story
Over the past year, I lost more than 110 pounds through running. What started as a personal health journey became something that completely transformed my life. And now, I'm ready to use that momentum for something bigger than myself.
That's why I'm running the 2026 New York City Marathon with SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education). As a national nonprofit, SCOPE funds overnight summer camp scholarships, known as "camperships," and college scholarships for children and teens from under-resourced communities who commit to staying in school. Children from low-income households are three times less likely to have access to the social, emotional, and character-building benefits of summer camp, and SCOPE exists to close that gap.
Camp has always been close to my heart after I was a group leader and Color War General at Timber Lake Camp and saw firsthand how impactful a camp environment can be. How the lessons on the court and the field don't just build athletes, they build students and leaders. Every child deserves that experience, and SCOPE makes it possible.
I know what it feels like to believe something is out of reach — and then prove yourself wrong. These kids deserve that same feeling. Every step I take on race day is for them. Together, we can reach our $5,000 fundraising goal and open doors for kids who need it most. Every mile has a purpose. Will you run it with me?
