Ilfracombe Lifeboat Station was established in 1828 but re-opened under the RNLI in 1866. Today its volunteers operate a 24-hour search and rescue service along the north coast of Devon, with most reliable lifeboats and modern station to launch from.

Story

I am the volunteer press officer for our lifeboat station and have covered lots of stories of people raising money to help us to save lives at sea. It's about time, I thought, that I did something myself! So, between 1st January and the RNLI's 200th birthday on 4th March, I am aiming to run 200 kilometres!

Ilfracombe’s lifeboat station was first established in the 1828 and has served our community for nearly 200 years.

The RNLI receives no government funding. All our work is funded by people like you. Will you help us by making a donation?

Thank you!
