Story
We’re taking on Miles that Matter on 29th September to stride towards a better future for everyone affected by blood cancer and blood disorders and to raise vital funds for Anthony Nolan.
We currently have 14 participants and will be walking from Millbarrows to the King Alfred Pub in Winchester. A stem cell transplant saved my life, and doing something to make that possible for someone else is so close to my heart. Until a month before my transplant there was not a single tissue match on the donor register in the whole world. Then a very kind lady in the US appeared, and donated me her stem cells to save my life. Without Anthony Nolan doing the pivotal work they do, matching the two of us would not have been a possibility. Please consider joing the register through DKMS or Anthony Nolan yourself, and if possible, please give blood and platelets as much as you can. All of these things save so many peoples lives on a daily basis, and it takes people like you to do that. Doing as much of this walk as I can with my family, who supported me through my transplant and treatment, is so special for me.

About Anthony Nolan: “We’re the charity that makes lifesaving connections between patients in need and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells.
Thanks to you, every day we help four people desperately in need of a transplant. And with your continued support, we’ll do the same tomorrow, and the next day, and until every patient that needs us can not only survive, but thrive.”
