Every step I take in this marathon is for the children and families at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM). Running as a Champion for CHAM isn’t just about crossing the finish line—it’s about giving every child in our community the chance to thrive, regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay.

CHAM stands as a beacon of hope and excellence, providing compassionate care to children facing life’s toughest challenges. Funds raised will support CHAM’s Quality in Life Team (QUILT), a group of palliative care experts who help families navigate life-threatening and terminal illnesses with clarity and compassion.

As an Information Security Engineer at Montefiore, I may not work directly with patients, but I do have an understanding of how critical patient care is to the health system. My sister, a Pediatric RN at a different hospital, tells stories of some of her patients she's provided care for and many of these cases are very surreal to listen to. To fundraise for such a cause provides meaning to this run knowing that it’s for the treatment and care of all the children that walk through CHAM.
