Story
Hi Friends!
I am raising funds for the Britton Fund this year. While at our yearly arborist Western Chapter ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) conference (this year in Tucson, AZ) a small and dedicated group meets beforehand to go on a fun and challenging bike ride. Looks like the route this year goes for about 87 miles through the desert, mountains, and around some amazing hill country. Sounds awesome! Besides making friends and riding near cool trees in a new area, this is a great opportunity for some fund raising.
Don't worry, I will pay for the fun part. I plan on covering all incidental costs, such as travel, lodging, gear, extra snacks, and my part of the van support, etc.. Any funds I can raise from you as part of this spectacle (of trying really hard, planting trees in parks while wearing my nylon bike outfit, and any post-ride, deep in exhaustion conversations you may have with me at the opening ceremonies for the WCISA conference, etc.) will all go directly to the Britton Fund.
To all my friends and colleagues that have supported this cause in the past, and may do so this year: THANKS!
More about the Britton Fund:
The Britton Fund is a nonprofit organization that supports tree care professionals and members of the Western Chapter of the ISA. Its mission is to raise private and public funding for science-based research and education to benefit the field of arboriculture and urban forestry with emphasis on issues inherent to the geographic area of California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii. And the tree growers, urban foresters, and arborists have relied upon this critical research to learn about urban trees for decades, and will need it even more into the future. Hope you can help!
Ultimately, we are raising money because we care for trees! Every dollar raised through this event will be dedicated for research and education for our tree care professionals in the west.
