This month, YMCA of Greater Houston Community Impact Services proudly celebrates Immigrant Heritage Month—a time to honor the countless contributions immigrants make to our communities every day. From food, music, art, and culture to innovation, science, and entrepreneurship, immigrants help shape the vibrant and diverse community we all call home. Their rich traditions, talents, and experiences strengthen our neighborhoods and enrich our collective lives.

As we celebrate these contributions, we also recognize the challenges many immigrant families face in accessing critical legal services. Too often, individuals are unable to obtain the legal assistance they need because of financial barriers or a lack of available representation. Without access to legal support, many are left without a meaningful path to stability, opportunity, and justice.

The YMCA is committed to bridging that gap by providing free legal services to community members who need them most. We assist lawful permanent residents seeking to become U.S. citizens, support low-income families who cannot afford legal representation, and help survivors of violent crimes pursue immigration protections that can provide safety and security for themselves and their loved ones.
