GUT is a community event supporting the fight against colorectal cancer in collaboration with the DGHF. Join us on March 6 as we climb the hills of Wentworth to help improve FIT test return rates in Nova Scotia. Together, we can help save lives.

Story

This page is dedicated to Craig Bethune and his family. Craig passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 28th, 2026. Craig was an integral part of the Get Up There team for the last 17 years. Given Craig’s consistent philanthropic nature and community involvement we felt it was appropriate to honour him with a dedicated page for this year’s event.

Along with being an avid Get Up There board member, Craig was a dedicated family man and solid great friend to many. Thriving at the schoolhouse in Wentworth, playing tennis, hiking new trails, building backyard rinks or cooking Michelin star meals, Craig was multi talented and loved nothing more than being with his family and friends and helping others any way possible.

There are no words to describe the loss of Craig. It is heart warming to read all the beautiful messages. On top of everything he was also simply the best Brother! Will miss him everyday.
