My Boston Marathon Effort

Boston Marathon · 15 April 2024 ·
On Monday, I ran the Boston marathon to support our JDJ glioblastoma multiforme cancer research fund led by Dr. Michor at Dana-Farber.
My mother always emphasized the power of 3 and yesterday was a great reminder. I finally hit a respectable personal best (4:28:59) and beat all my goals in the 70 degree heat. The vibes in Boston were electric, and it was an amazing experience.
After running the NYC marathon twice, our friends at Dana-Farber asked me to run Boston at our gala last year. I couldn’t turn them down.
Running a marathon is such a privilege. It is a blessing to have the health to move, the time to train, and the access to a sought after bib.
Many of you know that my run journey began during Covid to raise funds for JDJ, and I never imagined where it would take me.
Running is a very personal challenge and I chose to train for this marathon under the radar to show that anything is possible if you put the hard work in for it.
This puts my total competitive running mileage at 108.1 miles in about a year and a half. 3 marathon majors, 1 half marathon, 2 five milers & 2 5ks).
Please don’t feel obligated or any pressure but if my run has inspired you, would you please consider making a $108 donation to my page? $1 for every competitive mile I’ve run to date.
I am personally matching $10,000 in donations for hitting this milestone and because I strongly believe that Dr Michor’s research is extending the quality of life for brain cancer patients.
I know some of you already donated, and I am extremely grateful.
Thank you,
James
