Story
This January, we're taking on the HYROX challenge to support people living with cancer for Macmillan Cancer Support!
Rob and I have become firm friends over the the past couple of years through training together and it was during this time we established, that both of our daughters had had cancer at under the age of 4!
Between us we have experienced first hand the fantastic work Macmillan does looking after children and families during what can only be described as some of the hardest times a family can endure.
We are running this race for Sofia and Jess and other families in the same position!
Basically this is two Dads finding a positive way to raise awareness and money for other Dad's and families, that have to tread the same boards as we have!
We are collectively 101 years old and 33.5 stone, so we might not be the fastest but we will certainly be some of the strongest and most determined entrants.
HYROX is the fitness race that combines both running and functional fitness. We’ll be taking on a course of a 1km run followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times.
We have pledged to raise £1,000, which could run the Macmillan Support Line for nearly an hour. I’d be so grateful for any donations to help me reach my goal.
📖 £10 could pay for 10 copies of our Help with the cost of cancer booklet.
📱 £20 could provide one session of emotional support to a person living with cancer with a Macmillan Buddy.
💚 £39 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 1 hour.
There are currently over 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, but they can’t do this without donations from people like you.
Thank you!
