Story
I have always dreamed of running the New York City Marathon, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to run it for a cause that deeply resonates with me. As an aspiring genetic counselor, I recognize how impactful advocacy and support can be for individuals in need. I plan to continuously work toward understanding how my role as a future practitioner can help reduce barriers to resources and counseling. I hope my career can lead to more positive, inclusive conversations on equitable access to services for all communities, which is why I am proud to join Team FCA. Team FCA allows me to combine my love for running with my goals and aspirations, and I could not be more excited about what lies ahead in this journey.
Family and Children's Association (FCA) is a not-for-profit organization that provides help and hope to Long Island's most vulnerable families, children, seniors, individuals, and communities. Community outreach has been the most rewarding part of my academic and professional journey thus far, and is why I am choosing to raise money and awareness for a cause I am passionate about.
The number of our Long Island neighbors who turn to FCA for help is growing every day. While FCA provides professional services to those struggling with economic, emotional and social challenges, their clients' quality of life is enhanced by the involvement of others. That is why I am an FCA Athlete- to advocate and increase awareness for the ongoing work needed to further FCA's mission. Thank you for your support in my training!
