From September 14–18, I'll be wearing the same black outfit for five straight days as part of the Junior League of Washington's (JLW) Little Black Dress Initiative. The repetition is the point: it's a visible reminder of the limited choices facing people experiencing intimate partner and domestic violence, which affects millions of individuals every year regardless of age, race, income, or background. Survivors often face steep barriers to safety, stability, and healing.
