Story
I am running London Marathon 2027 for Spinal Injuries Association in memory of my grandmother, Diana, but to me Grandi. After a fall from a horse, she sustained a life-changing spinal injury and used a wheelchair for the majority of her life before she sadly passed away in 2024. Through her experience, I saw first-hand how far-reaching and complex the challenges of spinal injuries can be. Grandi was a strong supporter of Spinal Injuries Association and all the work that they do which is why I'm so motivated to support a charity that makes such a meaningful difference to people facing those challenges every day.
Every four hours, someone in the UK is told they will never walk again due to spinal cord injury. In that moment, they need more than medical care — they need hope, guidance, and someone who truly understands what they’re going through.
That’s why I’m proud to be in team SIA. SIA is the expert voice for everyone living with spinal cord injury. From the moment of injury and throughout someone’s life, they provide expert clinical advice, practical support, peer mentoring, advocacy, and the confidence to rebuild life on new terms.
