This Autumn, I’m taking on HYROX Birmingham to support people living with cancer for Macmillan Cancer Support, most notably my Mum.

HYROX is the fitness race that combines both running and functional fitness. I’ll be taking on a course of a 1km run followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times.

I have pledged to raise £1,500, to help provide support for people like my Mum who have to deal with the difficulties of living with cancer every day, as well as those that support them. She was diagnosed with CUP (cancer of unknown primary) 18 months ago and went through her first chemo treatment in the spring of 2025. Unfortunately the cancer has returned and she has just started her fourth set of chemo treatments.

My Mum has always been my biggest cheerleader and supported me through my whole life - now it’s time for me to show her how much that support really means. I can’t help cure her or any of the other 3.5 million people who have to deal with the strife of living with cancer in the UK, but we can help provide desperately needed funding to MacMillan to make their lives even slightly easier.
