💔 A Crisis This Thanksgiving: SNAP Cuts & Empty Shelves

This year, joy is being overshadowed by crisis. SNAP (food stamp) benefits have been cut for many families who rely on them most—at the exact time they are needed the most, heading into the holidays. The need in our community is desperate and growing. Last week, the Central Texas Food Bank was tragically unable to provide staple foods to 200 families in Pflugerville who came for assistance. The amount of people seeking help doubled since the last distribution, and remember that children and the elderly account for over half of all SNAP recipients—these are our most vulnerable neighbors. We cannot stand by while our local families face empty tables this Thanksgiving. We are launching an emergency fundraiser right now to provide essential food boxes to the families who were turned away.
