Amway Riverbank Run · 10 May 2025 ·

Children learn educational skills, practice good hygiene, and have the opportunity to bathe and wash their clothes. They also receive a nutritious meal and benefit from engaging stories, uplifting activities, and the caring support of the staff

Story

I am a part of Team International Needs, and I am running in the Amway Riverbank Run 25k on Saturday, May 10, 2025. And I am not running aimlessly (1 Cor. 9:26) but with the purpose of raising funds to support and free children trapped in bonded labor. Join us!

In Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, there are thousands of street children who lack access to food, shelter, clothing, education, and medical care. These children work odd jobs like working in a factory, selling flowers, candy, or shining shoes just to earn 55 cents per day to survive. In some instances, children turn to robbery or prostitution. These children are extremely vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.

International Needs now has "drop-in centers" where children can come enjoy a safe environment and have the chance to learn, play, and eat a nutritious meal with friends. In some instances, the staff are able to win the permanent release from bonded labor of these children and give them a chance at a real childhood.

So, as I offer my body as a living sacrifice, as Jesus did, I want to invite you to offer your resources in obedience to Jesus's teaching (Mat. 10:42 and Acts 20:35) to fulfill Isaiah's prophecy (Is. 61:1).

Will you partner with me and help support a child in need?

Acts: 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
