Story

Running for Ron, Racing for Alfie!

Running For Ron: On the 8th of May 2023, we sadly lost Meg's "Uncle Ron" to a devastatingly short Brain Tumour battle. He was a wonderful father, uncle, husband brother & highly committed member of his community, who helped many people in many ways and was inspirational throughout his battle.

We are Running for Ron and taking on the Great North Run on the 8th of September 2024.

Racing For Alfie: Family friends very recently had their lives turned upside down by the diagnosis of a brain tumour for their little boy Alfie who was only 3 years old at the time. September 8th 2023 saw Alfie undergo major brain surgeries, he has had to re-learn to walk, talk, feed and do normal day-to-day activities. Having been through radiotherapy now 4 years old he is enduring his journey with chemotherapy, keeping up strength, and being a total inspiration to us all.

Every day Alfie is a little hero and we are racing for Alfie a year on from his first initial surgery in support of the steps he has ahead of him on his journey to recovery.

Taking our running capabilities from literally couch to 21km, we have been training since February 2024 - not only changing the lives of those suffering with brain tumours, but also taking on our own fitness journey.

Josh, Megan, Chris & Sam taking on the challenge together, kicking each other across the finish line & hopefully sharing a few beers and a drop of wine at the end!
