Story
Completing a marathon has always been a bucket list dream of mine, so I’m so grateful to be granted with a charity place for London in 2025!! Sooo here goes, the next 7 months will be taken over by training plans, long weekend runs, all the gear & no idea, pretending I know what I’m doing with a few meltdowns along the way 😅
I’ve always been a huge advocate for running, no matter how sh** you may be feeling, the feeling after a run is the best! You can’t beat running outside in the fresh air, exploring beautiful new places along the way 💙
I chose to run for Mind after my Dad took his own life in 2016 at just 45. Mental health takes shape in so many forms, from Anxiety to Bipolar, Schizophrenia, to OCD & eating disorders and so many people still need support through charities like this. We all know someone who is battling their mental health in some way or you may even be struggling yourself. Unfortunately suicide is at its highest in 20 years.
Please feel free to follow my training page on insta @runwithjosie_ (I have no idea what I’m doing but hoping it gives me some accountability!) I know this training journey will sometimes feel like a lonely one so please reach out if you would like to join me on any of my training runs! Or you simply want to get outside 🫶🏻
I fully appreciate the £2200.00 fundraising target is a huge ask, so I’ll be doing all I can in the meantime to host my own mini fundraisers to help me to reach my target. I also turn 30 next year & want to have something to remember it by whilst raising vital funds for Mind 💫 I very much dread the winter months so having something to focus on is a blessing (maybe I won’t be saying that when it’s pissing it down & dark in the middle of January) 😅 Even just sharing my fundraising page will help me so much to achieve my target! Thank you so much in advance for your support 🙏
